The first day of the 2-day event was devoted to training and included two training tracks, both of which were filled to capacity. The second day featured an exciting agenda packed with lots of speakers, information, vendor booths and value for visitors.
Stephan Romeder, General Manager of Magic Germany, served as moderator during day two and introduced the speakers. He was followed by Eyal Pfeifel, the company’s CTO, who covered Magic’s Technology Vision including market trends and what enhancements customers can expect from Magic in 2014. With the Bring your Own Device phenomenon still a significant force and challenge for mobile enterprises, a speech on how businesses can tackle the BYOD challenge with Mobile Device Management captured the audience’s attention.
Next on the podium was Jens Bücking from Samsung. Jens put on an impressive show, demonstrating Samsung’s broad portfolio and the immense value they can provide to enterprises.
After that it was time for lunch. Along with the excellent food, the lunch break allowed participants to enjoy plenty of networking activities and discussions.
The afternoon session was opened by keynote speaker, mountaineer and climber, Georg Kronthaler, who gave an intense and emotional address about "rule-breaking and value-preservation". Georg spoke of the cutthroat competition among climbers of the eight-thousanders, the 14 mountains on earth over 8000 meters high, all of which are found in the Karakorams and Himalayas. He then told his personal story about bringing home the body of his brother, Markus, from the top of Broad Peak months after he died of exhaustion and dehydration on the descent from the 8047m mountain located on the Pakistan-China border. Even more challenging than undertaking the highest-altitude body recovery in history, Georg has tried to change the ethical principles of high-altitude climbing, where climbers' bodies have historically been abandoned.
After Georg’s emotional and long-applauded speech, Hasan Çiğdem from Telefonica Online Services brought the Summit audience back into the world of enterprise mobility with his talk about How to Use Apps from the Cloud.
Alexander Gutenbrunner from Imtech followed, providing insights into the process of handling Enterprise Mobility projects.
Next up was Michael Frohn, founder of factory42, a Magic and salesforce.com partner, who demonstrated the value of business process integration and marketing automation by integrating Marketing with ERP and CRM.
One of Europe`s giants in the construction industry was next. Egon Tiller, from Magic partner RMC Systems, and Dr. Markus Haeupl, Product Manager at STRABAG, the largest construction company in Austria and one of the largest in Europe, showed how Magic’s integration platform helped improve STRABAG’s resource management and control processes.
